We put the ChompSaw through all sorts of safety testing to guarantee our machine is 100% kid-friendly (it won’t cut fingers or snag on hair or clothes!) for inventors aged 3+. It doesn't matter how many candles are on your cake, building something with your own hands never gets old!

Absolutely! The ChompSaw has been independently tested against standards for children ages 3+ in the USA, Canada, UK, EU, and Australia. As of March 2025, the ChompSaw was found to meet all of these standards!

These tests check for things like:

• No harmful chemicals
• No small parts that could pose a hazard for children ages 3+
• Durability to withstand everyday play

The rigorous 3rd party testing follows official child safety regulations, including:

• US: ASTM F963 & CPSIA
• Canada: CCPSA Toy Safety Requirements
• UK & EU: EN IEC 62115 & EN71 (CE & UKCA certified)
• Australia: AS/NZS ISO 8124

The ChompSaw was designed for cardboard (roughly 2 pennies tall) but also works with most materials thinner and softer than 3mm thick cardboard like felt, fabric, and craft foam.

However, since our usability and durability testing focused exclusively on cardboard, we can’t guarantee the ChompSaw's performance with other materials. If you experiment with harder materials, we will have replacement cutting heads available for purchase.

Important: Do not attempt to cut metal with the ChompSaw! While the cutting mechanism may resemble some sheet-metal tools, the ChompSaw’s design prioritizes cardboard safety and performance, making it unsuitable and unsafe for metallic materials.

The ChompSaw measures approximately 10 inches long, 10 inches wide, and 4 inches tall, with a weight of 5.5 lbs.

The power cord is stored under the lid of your ChompSaw. Simply lift the lid to locate it!

The ChompSaw runs at about 70–75 decibels, which is roughly the volume of a household vacuum. We've done the proper safety testing to ensure our machine is safe for kids’ ears, but understand that the noise can feel a little loud.

If your child is sensitive to sound, we recommend using ear protection to make the experience more comfortable. A lot of kids actually love wearing safety gear like earmuffs and goggles. We've found it helps them feel like real builders and makes teaching power tool safety a fun part of the process!

If your machine is slipping when you push cardboard through, the cardboard might just be a bit too thick! The rounded end of the wooden scoring tool works wonders for compressing the area where you'd like to cut, making it easier to feed thicker pieces through.

If you're cutting big pieces of cardboard, forward pressure can cause the ChompSaw to slide. The Chompin' Station fixes this! It's a metal hook that anchors your ChompSaw to the edge of a table to keep your saw steady. Otherwise, a little double-sided tape or a non-slip mat does the trick!

If you ordered a ChompSaw on our website through Shopify, you will be able to change your address from your confirmation email as long as the product has not shipped out yet.

1. Locate your order confirmation email or text, which should contain a link to the order confirmation page.
2. On the order confirmation page, if prompted to log in to see the full order details, enter your email address tied to the order and your order number. Order number can be found in the original confirmation email or text.
3. After logging in, click “Update Shipping Address”
4. Enter your new address details, then click “Save”

If you’d like a refund (within 30 days of delivery) or have a warranty issue and need a replacement, you can start the process through our Returns Portal. We’ll ask you to upload a photo, either of the items you’re returning (packed in the box you plan to ship for change-of-mind returns) or of the damage you’re experiencing (for warranty issues).

Once we review your request, we’ll send you a prepaid shipping label along with step-by-step instructions. Refunds are processed within 10 business days after we receive and inspect your return. For warranty issues, we’ll ship your replacement as soon as your return reaches our warehouse.

You can cancel your order as long as it was placed through our website, and as long as the item has not yet shipped. You can do this yourself from the order confirmation email or text, following the below steps:

1. Locate your order confirmation email or text, which should contain a link to the order confirmation page.
2. On the order confirmation page, if prompted to log in to see the full order details, enter your email address tied to the order and your order number. Order number can be found in the original confirmation email or text.
3. After logging in, click “Cancel order now”
4. Follow the prompts to complete cancellation process.

Refunds will process to your original payment method. If you have any issues with this process, reach out to hello@chompshop.com for support.

Absolutely! We offer a one-year warranty on all ChompSaws. If you are having issues with your machine, you can always reach us at hello@chompshop.com or visit our Returns Portal to request a replacement.

Every month, your inventor gets a new project pack delivered right to their door containing everything they need to design and build something awesome with their ChompSaw. Each pack contains a brand new project, specialty materials, and instructions so they can dive right in!

You can join month-to-month (cancel anytime) or save with a 3-month or 12-month prepaid plan. Prepaid plans are billed upfront and projects ship monthly for the length of your term. All projects auto-renew unless cancelled, which can be done anytime in your subscription portal.

Yes! Month-to-month subscribers can cancel anytime. If you're on a 3- or 12-month prepaid plan, you can cancel at any time to prevent your subscription from renewing. You will still continue to receive projects through your plan's end date.

Yes! Month-to-month plans renew each month, and prepaid plans renew at the end of each term. You can cancel before your renewal date to prevent future charges.
